Terrorist Attacks in India

In a horrible targeted attack, Islamic Militants, apparently from Pakistan, have killed more than 130 people in Mumbai, India. A Rabbi and his wife were among the dead, their child was saved by and Indian cook. Per news sources, Americans, the British and Jews were the intended targets. Among the terrorists were British citizens of Pakistani decent.

As expected the American apologists are out in force. Included in the apologist camp is Deepak Chopra - who has made millions being a self help guru in right here in the good 'ol US of A. For the record, Iran agrees with Chopra that blame lies squarely in Washington. Good company there, Deepak.

So what now, Dear Leader? What about your plan to have Pakistan help fight the Taliban? What about improving those Pakistani/Indian relations? Methinks much of that just got sent right down the tubes.

I can only hope (no pun intended) this is a wake up smack for Barack Obama. Sadly, I fear this may be his first stab at pre-emptive appeasement.

The True Story of Thanksgiving

This story seems much more appropriate than normal some how (adapted from Rush Limbaugh's account in his book See, I Told You So!)

The Mayflower set sail with it's 102 passengers on August 1, 1620. 40 of those passengers were Pilgrims led by William Bradford. During the trip, Bradford established an agreement that required all members follow just and equal laws regardless of their religious beliefs, called the Mayflower Compact.

The Mayflower Compact was based on teachings in the Bible - both Old and New Testaments. The also looked at the Israelites for example - sure that because their contract was based on biblical teachings it would work splendidly.

Upon arrival to the New World after what was undoubtedly a rough voyage, the Pilgrims found desolate land. Bradford detailed in his diary that no friends were there to greet them, no houses to provide warmth and shelter, no Inns existed. In fact, half of the Pilgrims did not make it through that winter dying of cold, starvation and sickness.

In the spring, the Natives taught the settlers how to plant corn, fish and skin beavers for coats. Life improved greatly for the Pilgrims when this happened - and more often than not, you were taught that the first Thanksgiving was a feast giving thanks to the Indians for their help. There is, as Paul Harvey would say, a rest of the story.

The Mayflower Compact also included a section in which the Pilgrims agreed with their merchant sponsors in London to have everything they produce go to a common store, and each member of the community was entitled to a common share.

The land, the houses, all of it belonged to the community, not individuals. Everything was distributed equally - just like a commune. Low and behold, this "collectivism" or, socialism really, didn't work. Why? Bradford chronicled that the most creative and industrious in the community had no incentive to work harder than average - or even lazy - schmoes. There wasn't any personal motivation.

From Bradford's diary on the experiment:

"The experience that we had in this common course and condition, tried sundry years...that by taking away property, and bringing community into a common wealth, would make them happy and flourishing – as if they were wiser than God,' Bradford wrote. 'For this community [so far as it was] was found to breed much confusion and discontent, and retard much employment that would have been to their benefit and comfort. For young men that were most able and fit for labor and service did repine that they should spend their time and strength to work for other men's wives and children without any recompense...that was thought injustice."
What was the solution? Capitalism. Each family was given its own plot of land to work and allowed to keep or market their crops as they saw fit.

'This had very good success,' wrote Bradford, 'for it made all hands industrious, so as much more corn was planted than otherwise would have been.'

Before long, the Pilgrims had more than they needed, so trading posts were set up and goods were exchanged with the Indians. The profits were used to pay off debts to the merchants in London. This success made news back home and sparked European migration, known as the "Great Puritan Migration".

So what was the feast? It was the Pilgrims giving thanks to the Lord for guidance and plenty. Because their capitalism worked so well, and because they had more than they could eat, they invited the Indians to dinner giving thanks to them for their role in the prosperity of this community.

The moral of this story is simple, and one that should be taught repeatedly in schools across our nation - socialism is an experiment tried over and over with very poor success. There must be incentive for people to be prosperous - capitalism wins every time. Just think how much pain could be avoided if THIS story was the one stressed rather than "we gave thanks to the Indians for saving us".

Happy Thanksgiving!

More Change!

Barack Obama's rumoured NSA and CIA picks are tough on Israel, not so much on Iran and Hezb'allah.
And the envelope please for NSA.....General James L. Jones

He is remembered as a strong propoent of strategic cooperation between the United States and Israel, particularly when he served as Commandant of the Marine Corps. More recently, while serving as Rice's special envoy for Middle East Security, Jones prepared a report on Israel's policies in the territories that Ha'aretz described as "extremely critical…scathing…makes Israel look very bad."

CIA? John Brennan

Brennan published a long article on Iran in July 2008, expressing a benign view of the Islamic Republic and harsh criticism of U.S. policies that he believes have driven Iran in the wrong direction. Excerpts follow:

"Notwithstanding the fiery rhetoric coming from Iranian officials such as President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian theocracy has made much more limited use of terrorism over the past decade than it did in the first twenty years of its reign....Although it would represent a significant act of domestic political courage, U.S. national security would be best served if Washington publicly acknowledged and explored the roots of this shift in Iranian state support for terrorist activities....

This must be the "hope" part as in "I hope Israel goes away quietly". Stand by for the collective "I didn't know" from the Jewish Voters who supported Barack Obama.

In more news of Change, Barry is considering former Clinton Deputy Attorney General Eric Holder. You remember Atty. Holder, right? He was the guy who said the presidential pardon of corrupt financier Marc Rich was a-ok.

Per Newsweek, even MORE of that change is underfoot. To wit:

The sources said the Obama transition team is still debating over who should serve under Holder in the key post of deputy attorney general. One top candidate, favored by Obama chief of staff Rahm Emanuel and other former Clinton White House officials, is Elena Kagan, dean of the Harvard Law School and a former lawyer in the White House counsel’s office under Clinton. Another top candidate, favored by other Obama advisors, is David Ogden, a former chief of staff to Attorney General Janet Reno, who is currently heading Obama’s Justice Department transition team. Kagan brings legal policy credentials; Ogden has more experience in the Justice Department trenches.

Ahhh...hope and change, hope and change.

Victory In Iraq Day

Zombie has begun a crusade to declare November 22, 2008 Victory In Iraq Day. I am donning my HOOAH hat and joining he/she/it!

By every measure, The United States and coalition forces have conclusively defeated all enemies in Iraq, pacified the country, deposed the previous regime, successfully helped to establish a new functioning democratic government, and suppressed any lingering insurgencies. The war has come to an end. And we won.

What more indication do you need? An announcement from the outgoing Bush administration? It's not gonna happen. An announcement from the incoming Obama administration? That's really not gonna happen. A declaration of victory by the media? Please. Don't make me laugh. A concession of surrender by what few remaining insurgents remain in hiding? Forget about it.

This victory is further evidenced by the emails I receive from deployed friends stating "I'm bored". This is so counter to the ones I would get from my soldier (during his first and second deployment) stating "only x number of mortars today".

Thanks, guys. Be proud. Once again you showed up, kicked ass and peace erupted.

Just Some Guy In The Neighborhood

Happy Ex-Terrorists Now Loquacious - So before the election, it was Bill Ayers who? Now they are freakin' everywhere admitting their relationship with Obama was more than just casual, now we get this interview. Why are we legitimizing these two? The only difference between Timothy McVeigh and these clowns is body count. How comforted are YOU that our President Elect finds them interesting company?

From the Office of the President Elect - More News of the Scary

Valerie Jarret, Camp Obama Transition Team co-chair says Barry will be ready to "rule" from day one. Rule? RULE?!? President's don't RULE, they govern. Or at least they did.

I am now officially finished with the historic part of this election. Done. I don't want to hear any more "He's a good man". That means you, McCain. He isn't a "good man" he is a "good for all" guy. Not the same thing.

Tomorrow marks one week, so far I've seen nothing indicating a "change" that would equate to unifying this country. I've seen the website change.gov g from a list of 25 action items (including one citing mandatory civil service) to one very scrubbed, very lame paragraph. I've seen names bandied about as potential cabinet members that should make every one's skin crawl (Gorelick for AG? Good grief!). The "rulerette" up there is being put forward as a candidate for Barry's replacement in the Senate, despite having never served a day in public office. She was, however, chairman of the University of Chicago Medical Center and is currently CEO of The Habitat Company. This, of course, makes her more qualified than The One to be President, but not a Senator. Kind of reminds me of a certain President who attempted to put his loyal friend on the Supreme Court despite it being a colossally stupid idea...who could that have been? Will Obama worshipers point out this is glaringly ridiculous as we did to Bush?

Speaking of President Bush, what gives oh liberal ones? You told me, nay SWORE, fascism was inevitable under his regime. You promised thousands would be rounded up from libraries near and far for reading the wrong material and sent directly to Gitmo. You told me people who dared question Chimpy McBushhitler would suffer, disappear even. Yet Air America died its own painful death, Oliver Stone created a craptastic movie and still lives to make another one, countless I Hate Bush blogs still exist (though I don't know what is going to happen now), and remember Blackwater (cue ominous music)? Guess who used this very outfit for security in Afghanistan? Yes, Barry O.

So what now? I fear much of what the Libs predicted just might come true - only Chimpy won't be the catalyst. Being dramatic, you think? Why don't we ask Joe the Plumber. Anyone want to take bets on what happens to the Obama supporter/government worker who ordered the pulling of records? Suppose the same fate that befell Ken Lay or Scooter Libby will be discussed? Me either.

I am going to be pointing out all the idiot things Obama and his band of Thugs do over the next three months as I am doubtful dissent will be tolerated by The Ruler past this time.

Are You Kidding Me? National Holiday For Barry?

In most cases we don't have holidays for those still amongst the living. Thank goodness, Barry is still with us, so this Obama holiday thing appears a bit premature, no?

Off To A Great Start!

President Elect Obama apologized to Nancy Reagan after a making quite the classy joke about her in his first press conference.

Nancy is currently recovering from a fall where she broke her hip. Despite this, I am sure she was quite gracious when President Elect O phoned. Why am I sure of this? Because she is Nancy Reagan.

Since we are discussing Barry's coming out party, do you know which media got to cover this great event? Let's see: AP, NBC, ABC, CBS, Reuters, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, CNN and the New York Times. No questions from Fox. Heh.

A recap of Obama's first days:

1. Chose Rahm Emanuel (D-Illinois) as Chief of Staff. Interesting choice from the person who claimed to be the ultimate change agent. I think he mentioned something about not being a collection of Red States and Blue States, being Americans, etc. The rest of us know Senator Emanuel is not just a partisan shrill, he is a far left, hard core liberal known for his vile attacks on Republicans. Oh, he was a Clinton hack, too. Will we have a "This is not the Rahm I knew" moment in our future?

2. He disrespects Nancy Reagan at his first Press conference, and then apologizes. Wonder how often this is going to happen. As an aside, someone might want to inform Barry President Reagan is our hero and we don't take these things lightly.

3. Fox doesn't get a question at the first press conference.

4. That thing about not employing lobbyists? Just kidding. Politico reports the new tone of Washington is just like the old tone of Washington.

Despite campaign trail promises that special interests wouldn’t be a part of his administration, President-elect Barack Obama’s has sent signals to the lobbyists that they can get jobs with him.

...the overall message to the lobbying community appears to run counter to the Democratic senator’s campaign promise to keep special interest advocates at arms length. (h/t newsbusters).

Yes, change. You betcha.

Congrats, President Elect Obama

From my post at LGF, no need to rewrite what I feel:

I should be upset, I am really not. Maybe its the wine? I am seeing this as our chance, our opportunity to take back our party. But we have to do it, not talk about, not whine about it, get off our butts and DO IT.

We won't have the luxury of the media pointing out flaws, or making them up as the case may be, as the Dems did with Bush. Its up to us. He will screw up. People will say "oh what did we do". We must be there with the answer, and that is going back to what our founding father's designed. If we sit and wallow in self pity about this, we too will deserve what we get.

Night all. Its going to be ok, so long as we stick to our convictions.

This is Our Process

For better or for worse and if this ends as it appears with a BO presidency, so be it. Ranger up, Group! Out of Carter rose Reagan. We need a Reagan, and this just may be the kick in the seat the RNC needs to return to its base.

Zombie, With a Little Help From Its Friends, Finds This

The image on the left shows the Weather Underground Organization logo in 1975, and the Obama for President campaign logo in 2008. (from Zombie).

Once again, Zombie uncovers what our press should. He/She/It, along with 'Sharmuta' and 'ExperiencedTraveler' (LGF), discovered a rare copy of the first issue of Weatherunderground newspaper, Osawatomie.

From the Zomblog:

Much of Osawatomie, which was written at a time when the Dohrn-Ayers wing of the Weather Underground was transitioning from terrorism to “working from the inside” for revolution, concerns itself with the need to encourage “organizers” who will work in “communities” and use “audacity” to bring about “socialism” in America.

Don’t believe me? Read the quotes for yourself, and see them in context on the full pages below.

Rather than analyze the significance of the parallels between the ideas in Osawatomie, Barack Obama’s personal history as a “community organizer,” and the strategies, slogans and goals of his campaign for the presidency, I will let you the reader decide for yourself.

In 2009, Ayers and Dohn have another book slated to be published. Notice the symbol in the middle? Strikingly familiar, isn't it.

Please go read the whole thing and share with all your friends.

We can't listen in on conversations between suspected Terrorists being made OUTSIDE the US, I got warnings about President Bush wanting my library records and stepping all over Civil rights, but this?
